Career Connect works best when everyone knows what's expected. These guidelines outline your responsibilities as a member and help ensure our community stays valuable and respectful for everyone.
Profile and response timelines
- Complete your profile within 30 days of registering. If it's not completed, we'll remove your profile to make room for waitlisted members. You're welcome to re-register whenever you have time to finish it.
- Once you are registered and have received your potential mentor matches, you need to take action within 60 days or your profile will be removed to make room for waitlisted members. Again, you're welcome to re-register when you have the time to be active on the platform.
- Once matched, reach out to your mentor within 7 days to introduce yourself and schedule a meeting. If we don't see contact or a scheduled meeting within that time, we'll un-match you so your mentor can connect with other mentees.
- Please respond to any verification requests from our team in a timely manner.
Scheduling your conversations
- While the expectation is one 45-minute conversation per match, you're welcome to schedule additional meetings with your mentor if you both wish to continue. You can arrange subsequent meetings through the platform or directly with your mentor.
- The platform automatically closes matches 7 days after your last session. If you'd like to continue meeting, just schedule your next conversation before then.
- If you need to reschedule a meeting, let your mentor know as soon as you can. Rescheduling twice consecutively with the same mentor will result in being unmatched and potentially removed from the platform. Of course, we understand emergencies happen so if you're facing extenuating circumstances, just let us know.
Ending your matches
- Both Mentors and Mentees can end a match. Simply click on your match and click ‘End Match’ on the top right.
- We'll close matches that have been inactive for 60 days on your behalf, so mentees can connect with someone new.
