What interests you in investment management or advice? Any experience?

I have prior experience as an Investment Analyst Winter Intern @ ATLAS Infrastructure, Data Analytics & Automation Summer Intern @ Macquarie Capital, AI Engineer Intern @ St Andrews Insurance. I found funds management to be exciting and intellectually invigorating. I think the world of investment management is dynamic and fast-paced.

What are you curious about in markets right now?

In terms of equities, I am curious to hear how professionals are dealing with the potential of inflated valuations and how they have attempted to capture trends such as the growth of AI.

How did you prepare for your conversation with Caleb?

By reading the news and investment theses – then discussing how Caleb views these, trying to understand how and why he views things the way he does.

How did the conversations go? What was your biggest takeaway?

We’ve had four conversations with many takeaways but in particular Caleb’s insights into the retail/consumer segments in terms of key drivers and his takeaways from macro economic shifts have been great.

Any advice for other mentees using the platform or preparing for a great conversation?

Discuss things you are genuinely interested in and your mentor has a specialty in.

What’s your dream job?

I am thinking about pursuing Private Equity.

Who inspires you (professionally and/or personally) and why?

I would say Alex Honnold (the rock climber) is someone who inspires me: he relentlessly overcomes adversity and is commited to doing what he loves whilst pushing his limits to the extreme.
